WE OFFER A WAY TO WORK DIFFERENT

6 Foundational Principles

1. Iteration. Think of an artist creating a portrait, first a pencil sketch, then a sketch to evaluate contrast, then one to evaluate colors, then a wash or blocking in shapes, then adding layers of increasing fidelity and detail.

2. Parallel Processing. We can work on multiple topics at once or a single topic among many teams (even if they somewhat depend on each other). Even if we only get a 60% solution on the first iteration, you will find that it’s more efficient than working linearly.

3. Combination. We take the results of one round of work and turn it over to a single team to synthesize. Or take two models from two groups and smash them together in a single team to see what emerges.

4. Immersion. Immersion means that everyone is engaged throughout the entire work experience, whether it’s 3 hours or a full day or two days. Immersion builds community fast and the focus that it requires can lead to radically accelerated performance on the second or third day of the experience.

5. Variety. Vary the length of breakouts, the materials used and the group compositions. We keep the participants alert so they aren't sure what's coming next and therefore won't fall victim to complacency.

6. Selection by Fitness. The best designs usually emerge out of combination and they can be tested for their fitness to meet the requirements.
